All I Can See- Brendan James
There
is this amazing singer/songwriter, Brendan James, who happened to pen a song
that completely encapsulates how I feel about my desire to travel.
I happened upon this artist last summer during my visit to Turkey with my
friend Amy. We were talking about how much we were enjoying our trip and
why it was so important to travel, and to be honest I found my need to travel
difficult to explain. When I get to experience something new in a
foreign land I get this overwhelming surge of happiness, this feeling that I'm
connected to the lives of others. If I'm lucky enough to walk in the
footsteps of past civilizations, I begin to imagine their lives, what they must
have felt at certain points during their often turbulent and yet beautiful
existence.
Well, Amy pulled out her ipod and said I needed to hear this song. Later that
summer I made Ms. Bisconti listen to it and the rest is history as they say.
: ) It's our favorite song, it can be found on posters that hang
in our classrooms, and we decided to put a small portion of it in on the front
cover of your Silk Road Journal!
If
you feel so inclined, please take a listen to the full song by following this
